3/1/2023 0 Comments Neorouter pi install![]() I've done a fair bit of googling, and seem to get stuck when i type " mosquitto_sub -h localhost -v -t "\$SYS/#" ", I get an error. I am just battling to get MQTT going, and can't find a good tutorial or howto for our pi setup. I agree with ebrsa regarding the mqtt implementation for monitoring extra or special values vs the display tab. Besides I like the graphic display that tells me all I mostly want to know at a glance. So my vote goes to additional future displays to be on MQTT. If you don't have a VPN server on your router like with Gargoyle firmware, install a free Neorouter server on a PC on your home LAN and leave it running when you are away from home for secure VPN remote access. The ICC-Pi and MQTT is a winning combination for me and both programs can be accessed with ease from other devices such as tablets, mobile phones and lap or desktop computers from anywhere in the world. It would be interesting to hear how many users run their Pi with display, keyboard and mouse connected and how many use MQTT. Of course I can also VNC to the Pi, which runs headless, to the Pi display. ![]() ![]() I just take my Android tablet to the garage where my inverters are and VNC with wifi to the Windows PC running MQTT. Besides the inverters are always installed in an out of the way location and not in people's offices. There is enough pertinent information on the Pi display already. I would vote for additional information that users request to be displyed on MQTT and not the Pi. ![]()
